The board of directors of the Yemen Judges Club condemned the exclusionary measures and illegal steps that harm the legal positions of the club and its leadership by the judicial authorities in Aden.

Increase immunity
In a statement published on Monday, December 30, 2024, he stressed that the immunity of Judge Dr. Rawaa Abdullah Mujahid had been lifted, according to invalid procedures.

Stop the budget and salaries
He noted the suspension of the budget, salaries and all legal guarantees necessary for the acquired positions of the club, in an unprecedented manner in the history of authoritarian regimes.

Intent bias
The club said that the public prosecutor’s office acts in a biased manner without paying attention to all the facts that the club requested to be investigated, believing that it is a stain on the history of the Yemeni justice system, including corruption, nepotism and falsification of administrative and judicial functions.

Gagged mouths
He considered that this precedent aims to silence judges and their entity, and that it combined with the policy hostile to judicial freedoms of the Superior Council of the Judiciary, to work to lift the immunity of club leaders in the event of irresponsible behavior, instead of investigating crimes which resulted in the behavior of the leaders of organizations that harm the judiciary.

The club regretted that the Superior Council of the Judiciary has moved from the status of guarantor of judicial rights, freedoms and human rights to that of an instrument of protection of those involved in corruption offenses in the judicial system, by issuing decisions and regulations characterized by a lack of objectivity.

He considered that this reinforces the gap in our country’s commitment to human rights and fundamental freedoms, and goes beyond the general state policy defined by the speech of the Presidential Leadership Council, including decisions to hire and appoint first and second degree relatives.

Theater of nepotism
The club’s statement said the offices of judicial bodies had become a refuge for relatives and supporters and a scene of odious nepotism.

The statement emphasizes that lifting immunity simply to gain advice and constructive criticism aimed at remedying administrative crises and flawed policies is a disaster in itself that requires all rational people to speak out against the dangerous direction towards which the Yemeni justice system is being driven by current policies.

He stressed that the fanaticism in the communications of the appeal prosecutor’s office in southern Aden governorate, which carries out a second summons before the first summons, indicates a lack of respect for its decisions and confirms its concern not to guarantee the right of the club and its management to obtain the Council’s decision to lift immunity.

The statement emphasizes that the decision to lift immunity was hidden by the Council for fear of legal dissuasion for its alleged decision.

Culture of corruption
The club called on state leaders, represented by the Presidential Leadership Council and the leadership of the House of Representatives, to put an end to these reckless transgressions aimed at establishing a culture of corruption in the judiciary in an unprecedented manner, inheriting jobs and positions, and using the powers granted to silence the mouths and blackmail liberals in the judiciary.

Reduce corruption
He called on human rights defenders, representatives of international and national organizations and the media to take steps to reduce judicial corruption and end practices that seek to serve “coup militias” by abusing legitimate authority.

Judicial freedoms
The club affirmed that it will spare no effort to address the violation of judicial freedoms and harm the legal positions of the Yemeni Judges Club and its leaders, indicating that it will strive to take all appropriate measures to defend the Authority of Rights and Freedoms, ward off corruption opportunities and restore the republic.
